STYLE GUIDE: PITTI UOMO 97

STYLE GUIDE: PITTI UOMO 97

As the menswear crowd congregated in Florence and Milan for the 97th rendition of Pitti Uomo, the famous Pitti peacocks flocked to the streets in their ensembles, redefining the traditions of a sartorial showcase.

Oversized coats along with trousers with roomy proportions were just some of they key trend notes that were seen, despite the recent comment by Virgil Abloh that streetwear is “definitely going to die” in 2020. Whether the trend for a more formal ensemble for revive is still up for debate.

Oversize coat is a strong trend on the runway and street style.

Oversize or Casual fit printed shirts are all the rage now.

Right: 3-pc corduroy suit with patch pocket detailing used to create a casual feel.

Left: A Checkered Sports Jackets and a shawl used in place of a tie.

We are seeing pops of orange as a signature piece or colour accents.

A new update to the blue palette suit we are seeing is the colour: Petrol Blue.

See how orange is also used as an accent colour to the look?

Playing with BIG patterns on the blazer or coat.

We are seeing Green being a trending colour.
Above look is a perfect match of neutrals with green.

Lots of interesting double breasted waistcoat

When going for a high contrast look, instead opting for a simple black and white, use monochromatic colours for a more stylistic approach.

Velvet is coming back in trend too. Above style with bomber jacket and matching pants.
