The Fashionista: Top Red Carpet Looks Through The Decades

The Oscars. The Grammies. The MET Gala. The time to roll out that red carpet in all its glitz and glamour. The time for the stars to shine bright, donning elaborate gowns and looking dashing in suits. There is coverage aplenty for the many beautiful gowns and garments donned by the ladies, but what about the men? Let us take a look at some of the top looks worn by men throughout history.

Clark Gable

With its wide satin lapels of the tuxedo and accompanying 3-buttoned waistcoat, together with the pleated wide-columned pants and paired with matching self-tied silk bow tie, Clark Gable embodied the ideal look for the 1930s.

Marlon Brando

Marlon Brando in 1955, donning a suit sporting a wide silk shawl lapel.

Bonus: Marlon Brando at the Cannes Film Festival in 2007, still looking as stylish as ever.

Humphrey Bogart

Frank Sinatra

Sinatra, seen here in the 1963 Oscars, where he was presenting, looking dapper in his white bowtie-on-white ensemble.

Sidney Poitier

Sidney Poitier, the very first African-American to win the award for Best Actor in 1964, looking dapper in his white bowtie-on-white ensemble.

Tom Selleck

Tom Selleck in 1983

Warren Beatty

Warren Beatty in 1962

Bonus: Still looking as stylish at this year's Oscar awards.

Ryan Gosling

Always immaculately dressed, here is Gosling in all his glory at this year's Oscars.

Pharrell

Pharrell has proved himself to be one who is willing to take risks on the red carpet, and he definitely does make a statement, such as when he paired the traditional tuxedo jacket and shirt with a pair of matching black shorts instead.
